Cultured Marble: Care and Maintenance
With
proper care and maintenance, your cultured marble vanity top, tub, and/or
shower will last for many years and give your home a classic look as well
as a surface that is easy to maintain.
Many items normally used in the bathroom, such as dyes and chemicals,
hair care products, nail polish and removers, perfumes, liquid plumbing
solutions, are potential hazards. Spills shoud be wiped up immediately.
- DO NOT drag or drop heavy items on the marble surfaces.
The marble can be scratched and/or chipped away.
- DO NOT set your water heater temperature above 140F.
Water temperatures above 140F may cause cracking.
- DO NOT use abrasive cleaners on the surface. Products
such as Comet
and Clorox
Soft Scrub
contain fine abrasives which can scratch and dull the surface finish.
- DO NOT set hot objects, such as curling irons or cigarettes,
on the marble surface. Hot objects can burn the surface gel coat.
- DO NOT pour Liquid Drano
in the sinks or on the surface since it will destroy the surface gel
coat.
