Customstone
Solid Surface
Introducing
Customstone ,
the afforable, densified solid surface material manufactured exclusively
by Custom Quality Marble in Austin, Texas. You've probably heard of Corian ,
but don't be fooled in to thinking you must pay more for national brands
to get quality. Customstone
has been certified by the Universal Laboratory, Inc. and has set its own
track record for quality performance and durability since it was first
introduced in 1989.
But first, a little history: during the late 1960s, DuPont
discovered a way to blend natural minerals with acrylic resin to create
an ideal surface for living. The result was an unique product known Corian ,
a "solid surface" that is nonporous, renewable and repairable.
Similar to Corian ,
Customstone
was developed by Custom Quality Marble in 1989 to further enhance what
Corian
has to offer, but at a more affordable price. Customstone
is 100% solid and nonporous. Its color goes all the way through. If the
surface is damaged, theres plenty more renewable material underneath.
Customstone surfaces
have virtually inconspicuous seams, plus no voids or pores like tile,
wood, granite or marble, so bacteria and mold have nowhere to take root.
When Customstone
looks clean, it really is clean. Customstone also
keeps its good looks longer. Impacts that can ruin porcelain, ceramic
tile or cultured marble just dont faze Customstone .
Because the solid beauty of Customstone
goes all the way through, Customstone
surfaces are completely renewable, usually with ordinary abrasive cleaners
and a green Scotch-Brite
pad.
Customstone
ADVANTAGES:
1. No Sheet, No Waste, Less Seams.
Unlike Corian ,
Wilsonart Gibraltar ,
and Avonite
which are manufactured in sheets, then cut and glued together to form
the necessary shapes and sizes containing many seams, Customstone
is poured into molds to fit each individual design. Waste is minimized
so you dont end up paying for the trim waste from prefabricated
sheets.
2. 7/8 Thick vs. 1/2 Thick.
Every Customstone
kitchen countertop comes in 7/8 inch standard thickness versus the standard
1/2 inch thick sheet that other name brands offer. Heavy objects
can be supported with more confidence on 7/8 inch think material. In addition
to the improved wearability, due to Customstone s
75% higher thickness, NO reinforcement will be needed under the counters,
on cabinets or around an under-mounted sink.
3. Choose from over 70 solid, texture and granite colors.
Custom Quality Marble can also match most of the popular Corian
colors and add decorative drop edges or inlays to accent your most unique
design.
Did you know...over $4,500,000 worth
of Customstone
kitchen countertops and bathroom vanity tops have been sold in the Austin
and surrounding area since 1989.
